St Matthew Housing provides supported accommodation for single
people who are either homeless or unsuitably housed.
St Mathews was founded in 1973 and have over 35 years'
experience in delivering support and accommodation to individuals
across East Anglia and the East Midlands.
We provide over 700 units of shared or self-contained
accommodation across our service area.
We provide resettlement support to enable residents to successfully
move onto independent accommodation and floating support to
external service users who have housing support need.
We work in a way that enables people to achieve their individual
goals, at their own pace, in their own communities. St Mathews in
2008 became part of Springboard Housing Association and so is part
of the Genesis Housing Group.
St Mathews works with many local authorities in delivering a
personalised supported accommodation service to people in housing
need.
Accommodation-based service
We offer three types of accommodation:
1. Houses
St Mathew Housing provides 42 schemes, offering accommodation to
individuals who require day-to-day support. A team consisting of
at least one Housing Support Worker and two Project Workers
manages the house.
Each resident has the opportunity to learn life skills and receive
support tailored to their individual needs. Residents have their
own room and shared use of communal facilities including the
kitchen, lounge, garden and laundry.
2. Group homes
Living in one of the 18 Group Homes provides residents with more
independence. Residents do their own shopping and cook all their
meals in a shared kitchen.
Group Homes are situated close to other St Mathew Housing
accommodations to ensure staff are nearby, should the residents
require assistance.
3. Move-on flats
Move-on flats offer residents the chance to live
independently, yet still receive support when required. St Matthew
Housing provides 164 flats across the region. Residents have the
chance to live in their own self-contained accommodation and
experience what life would be like living independently.
Floating Support service
St Matthew Housing offers Floating Support to individuals who live
independently in the community. These service users may be tenants
of local authorities, live in privately rented, own their
accommodation or be tenants of other housing associations.
A team of 30 Floating Support workers and assistants across the
region with bespoke support plans to ensure they can sustain their
accommodation and remain independently.
